Election Commission has released the first supplementary voter list in West Bengal, know how to check your name.
Kolkata. The Election Commission has released the first supplementary list of people adjudicated by the judicial authorities out of 60 lakh 6 thousand 675 voters with logical discrepancy in West Bengal. The Election Commission released this supplementary list late on Monday night at around 12 o’clock. Earlier, West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Aggarwal had told the media that by 4.30 pm on Monday the judicial officers had taken the decision regarding 29 lakh voters. It is not yet known how many of these names have been struck off by the judicial authorities.

The supplementary voter list released by the Election Commission has been put up in all the 80,000 booths of West Bengal. There are two parts in this supplementary voter list. The first contains the names of those voters who have been approved by judicial authorities. The second part will contain the names of rejected voters. Apart from this, name can also be checked by giving EPIC number on ECINET app. On the orders of the Supreme Court, about 700 judicial officers from West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha are handling the cases of voters with logical disability. It is believed that everything will be decided before the voting dates of West Bengal Assembly elections.

The Election Commission has also created 19 tribunals in West Bengal. There are former judges in these tribunals. Those voters whose names are not accepted by the judicial officers will be able to present their case in these tribunals and appeal for their names to be added to the voter list. These tribunals have also been formed on the instructions of the Supreme Court. After SIR in West Bengal, the Election Commission had deleted the names of about 58 lakh voters. Whereas, notices were sent to more than 60 lakh voters with logical discrepancy. This has enraged the ruling TMC. TMC and its chief and CM Mamata Banerjee allege that the Election Commission in collaboration with BJP is deleting the names of their voters. Whereas, BJP says that the names of Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators who were made voters by Mamata Banerjee’s government have been deleted.
