Leander Paes may join BJP, speculation rife after meeting with party president Nitin Nabin

New Delhi. Former tennis player Leander Paes is in the news before the assembly elections in West Bengal. Actually, Leander Paes has recently met BJP National President Nitin Nabin. After this meeting, speculations have started that Leander Paes may possibly join BJP. If Leander Paes joins BJP, it will be a blow to TMC. Leander Paes joined Trinamool Congress in 2021.

Paes took membership of TMC in Goa in the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Mamata Banerjee included Paes in the party and called him her younger brother. However, TMC did not assign any major responsibility to Paes. Perhaps due to being sidelined while in the party, Paes has now decided to leave TMC. Another TMC leader, former MLA Arghya Roy, has joined BJP. Let us tell you that this time BJP is gearing up to win the Bengal elections. BJP national president Nitin Nabin is on a tour of Bengal. During this, he will hold a meeting with the workers and review the preparations for the elections.

Assembly elections are to be held in Bengal in two phases. Voting for the first phase will take place on April 23. Whereas voting for the second phase will be held on April 29. Counting of votes will take place on May 4 and the result will be declared on the same day. A direct contest is being considered between BJP and TMC in Bengal. TMC has also declared the names of its candidates on all the seats. BJP has also released two lists of candidates. This election has become a question of credibility for both BJP and Mamata Banerjee. TMC recently released its manifesto in which many announcements have been made for youth and women.
