UP ATS busts terror module linked to Pakistan, four arrested
New Delhi. UP ATS has busted a terrorist module linked to Pakistan and arrested four people. Saqib alias Devil, resident of Abdulpur under Parikshitgarh police station area of Meerut, is the main accused of this gang. Saqib works as a barber. Arbab, a resident of Saqib’s village, Vikas Gehlawat alias Raunak and Lokesh alias Papla Pandit alias Babu alias Sanju, both residents of Ram Vihar Colony, Chhapraula, Gautam Buddha Nagar, have also been caught by ATS. These four accused were caught just before carrying out the plan of arson and explosion in the signal box near Lucknow Railway Station. These people were working on the instructions of Pakistani handlers.

According to ATS, these people have sent photographs and GPS locations of important institutions, vehicles, railway signals to ISI handlers. This gang had a plan to set fire and bomb blasts in important buildings of the country. Saqib, the main accused of the gang, was in constant touch with the Pakistani handler through social media networks like Telegram and Instagram. Pakistani handlers used names like Osama bin Laden, Farhatullah Ghauri, Kashmir Mujahideen and Ghazwa-e-Hind. A plan was being hatched by these handlers to target public properties and citizens by tricking Saqib in the name of religion.

One can of inflammable substance, 7 smartphones, 24 pamphlets and Aadhaar cards have been recovered from the arrested accused. A case has been registered against all these accused in ATS police station, Lucknow under sections 148, 152, 61(2) of BNS and sections 13 and 18 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967. Now after getting the remand from the court, ATS will interrogate these people and also find out their other links. Complete details of the smartphones that have been seized from the accused are also being extracted, after which ATS may get some important clues.
