New Delhi. Five accused have been arrested in the blast case that took place outside the Punjab BJP office in Chandigarh on April 1. These people were linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. Counter Intelligence Branch of Punjab Police conducted a joint operation with Chandigarh Police in which the police team got important clues. The two main attackers have also been identified. Police teams are conducting operations to nab the absconding accused. A grenade and other material have been recovered from the arrested accused.

Giving information regarding the case, Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav said that preliminary investigation shows that this module was supported by Pakistan’s ISI. Not only this, foreign handlers from Portugal and Germany have been identified, on whose instructions this attack took place. The blast was carried out through a network of several different modules and sub-modules. The arrested accused have been identified as Balwinder Lal alias Shammi, Jasbir Singh alias Jassi, Charanjeet Singh alias Channi, Rubal Chauhan and Manjeet alias Abhijeet Sharma.

According to the DGP, a major terrorist conspiracy has been successfully foiled. Efforts are on to nab the main accused involved in the case. The DGP said that Punjab Police remains steadfast in its commitment to ensure security and communal harmony in the area. Let us tell you that on April 1, there was an explosion outside the BJP office in Chandigarh in the evening. Earlier it was being speculated that the blast had taken place in a scooter parked in the parking lot. Shortly after the blast, a video went viral on social media in which a person was seen throwing a grenade there.
