Terror Plot Foiled In Punjab: Conspiracy to terrorize Punjab foiled, ISI sponsored BKI terrorist module busted, two arrested, many banned items including grenades, detonators recovered
New Delhi. Punjab Police has foiled a major terrorist conspiracy. Amritsar Rural Police, Gurdaspur Police and SSOC-Amritsar, in a joint operation with central agencies, achieving a major success, busted an ISI sponsored BKI terror module operated by a foreign handler and arrested two accused. 5 hand grenades, 2 special detonators, PTT timer with coder and decoder, 9 volt battery, IED material (1 kg high explosive filled with nails), cable and walkie-talkie with trigger have been recovered from them. From these things recovered from them, it can be inferred that they were preparing for some major attacks with the aim of disturbing the peace.

Giving information in this regard, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Explosive Substances Act at Kalanaur Police Station in Gurdaspur. Further investigation is underway to trace their foreign handlers and other links including local support networks. Just a day ago, the police had busted a gang smuggling illegal weapons from across the border. Three accused and a minor were arrested and 7 sophisticated pistols, 12 live cartridges and a motorcycle were recovered from them.
Anti-gangster helpline launched
Apart from this, Punjab Police has also started an anti-gangster helpline today. The public has been appealed to share information directly on the helpline number 93946-93946 so that it can help in arresting the wanted criminals. The DGP has also assured that the identity of the informers will be kept completely secret so that there is no threat to their security. DGP said that a cash reward of up to Rs 10 lakh will also be given for information leading to the arrest of gangsters. The DGP has requested the public to immediately share information to help the police in catching the criminals.
