Harivansh Narayan Singh Nominated To Rajya Sabha: Harivansh Narayan Singh returns to Rajya Sabha, President nominates him for the Upper House, tenure will be till 2032
New Delhi. Former Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh Narayan Singh has returned to the Upper House of Parliament. JDU leader Harivansh has been nominated as a member of Rajya Sabha by President Draupadi Murmu. Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath to Harivansh Narayan Singh today. Harivansh’s Rajya Sabha tenure ended this month. JDU had not declared Harivansh as its candidate this time in the Rajya Sabha elections. After which the President nominated him. Harivansh’s current tenure will be till 2032.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Harivansh Narayan Singh on his nomination to Rajya Sabha. Referring to Harivansh ji’s invaluable contribution to journalism and public life, Modi said, he is a respected intellectual and thinker. He has enriched the proceedings of the House over the years with his profound thoughts and insights. I am happy that the President has nominated him to the Rajya Sabha. My best wishes to him for the upcoming parliamentary term.

Modi had said that some friends are bidding farewell from here. Some are bidding farewell to come again and some are leaving after taking the experience here to make a special contribution in life.
