Central Government Hikes DA: The wait for central employees and pensioners is over, Modi government increased DA by this much percent
New Delhi. Central employees and pensioners were waiting for a long time to know when their DA i.e. dearness allowance would increase. Now Modi government has decided to increase the DA of central employees. In the Union Cabinet meeting held on Saturday under the chairmanship of PM Narendra Modi, approval was given to give another 2 percent DA to the central government employees. Earlier, Modi government had increased the DA of central employees in October. Now after another 2 percent increase, the DA of central employees and pensioners will become 60 percent.

Central employees get the benefit of DA increase twice a year. Every year in January and July the government declares DA rates. The decision to increase DA has come at a time when employee organizations are also presenting their report before the Eighth Pay Commission. On behalf of the National Council Joint Consultative Mechanism, an organization of central employees, a demand has been made before the Pay Commission to impose a fitment factor of 3.83. With this, the minimum basic salary of central employees will increase to around Rs 70,000. This will benefit not only 50 lakh central employees but also more than 65 lakh pensioners.

The report of the Eighth Pay Commission is expected by the middle of next year. However, it can be implemented from January 1, 2026. In such a situation, central employees and pensioners will also get substantial arrears. Till now, after the Pay Commission report, a new salary structure has been prepared by adding DA in the pay scale. In such a situation, Modi government can adopt this method while implementing the recommendations of the Eighth Pay Commission. At present, the government has definitely brought happiness on the faces of central employees and pensioners by increasing DA. Let us tell you that during the Covid pandemic, government employees could not get DA thrice. Central employees have also been demanding to give those DAs.
