MEA Responds To Donald Trump’s Anti-India Post: Indian Foreign Ministry’s response to Donald Trump’s anti-India post and Iran’s firing on ships in Hormuz.

New Delhi. India’s reaction has come after US President Donald Trump reposted a social media post related to India. Trump has reposted a letter from American radio host Michael Savage, in which India, China and other countries have been compared to ‘hell’. In response to the questions asked by journalists regarding this, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal only said in the press briefing that we have seen some reports. That’s all I would like to say on this. Jaiswal refrained from saying anything in detail in this regard for the time being.

Recently, on the Iranian Navy firing on two Indian ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz, Jaiswal said, the two ships on which the Iranian Navy fired in the Strait of Hormuz are foreign-owned. There are some Indian citizens on board these ships and they are safe. With regard to Indian ships present in the Persian Gulf, we are in constant touch with Iranian authorities to ensure that they safely exit the region and return to India. Let us tell you that India had lodged a strong protest with Iran regarding this incident. The Indian Foreign Ministry had also summoned Iran’s ambassador to Delhi.

Regarding the current situation in the context of West Asia, Jaiswal said, our policy is very clear. We have always been in favor of peace. Whatever steps are being taken or will be taken towards peace initiatives, they have our support. We have always said that any issue, conflict or difference should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy. This is our stand and this is India’s stand at present.
