ED Raid In West Bengal: Big action by ED in West Bengal, raids at various places in ration scam case


Kolkata. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted large-scale raids at 9 places including Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, in the ration scam case. Apart from Kolkata, ED officers also reached Bardhaman and Habra of North 24 Parganas in the early hours and conducted raids. ED took this action against the locations of many accused including businessman Parth Sarathi. Let us tell you that in the West Bengal ration scam case, ED had recently called former TMC MP and actor Nusrat Jahan and interrogated her.

Jyotipriya Mallik, a minister in Mamata Banerjee’s TMC government, is the main accused in the ration scam of West Bengal. He was also arrested in 2023. Jyotipriya Mallik was the Food and Supplies Minister in the Mamata Banerjee government from 2011 to 2021. ED alleges that ration grains were sold in the open market and the money received from it was diverted through shell companies. ED claims that the sacks of government ration issued were turned over and the government stamp was hidden and that ration was sold in the market. The name of TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh also came up in this case. There was also a fatal attack on the ED officers who had gone to raid there.

There have been allegations of many scams and irregularities during Mamata Banerjee’s government in West Bengal. In the teacher and non-teacher recruitment scam, thousands of youth even lost their jobs due to the court order. Apart from this, there has also been an allegation of coal scam in West Bengal. In which Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee has also been interrogated. BJP has made these alleged scams that took place during the Mamata government in West Bengal an election issue. At the same time, CM Mamata Banerjee and her party TMC have always claimed that the BJP government at the Center is using ED for political reasons.
