Chaos During Re-Polling In West Bengal: Uproar during re-polling in West Bengal, voters in Falta accused TMC workers of threatening, additional security forces deployed
New Delhi. Re-polling is going on at 15 booths in West Bengal. Meanwhile, tension has increased due to uproar in Falta and Hasimnagar areas of South 24 Parganas. Local people allege that TMC workers are threatening them and stopping them from voting. A large number of people gathered and started protesting regarding this. There has also been a clash between TMC and BJP workers. After which, in view of the situation, additional deployment of CRPF and RAF forces was made and continuous patrolling is going on by the security forces.

The protesting people say that TMC workers want to create an atmosphere of fear. Local people have directly accused TMC MLA Jahangir Khan and his supporters that they have threatened to burn people’s houses if BJP wins. Let us tell you that as per the order of the Election Commission, re-polling is being held today at booth numbers 46, 126, 127, 128, 142, 214, 215, 216, 230, 231, 232 of Magrahat West and four polling booths 117, 179, 194, 243 of Diamond Harbour. Voting was held in the second phase on April 29 at all these polling booths. The Election Commission had received complaints of irregularities during voting at all these 15 booths.

After investigation, the complaints were found to be true and the Election Commission canceled the poll under Section 58(2) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. After the recommendation of the Special Election Observer, it has been decided to conduct re-polling there. Counting of votes in Bengal is to take place on May 4. Although the exit polls are in favor of BJP, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is completely confident about the formation of TMC government in the state once again. He has also claimed to have won more than 226 seats.
