New Delhi. Even though Thalapathy Vijay’s TVK has emerged as the largest party in Tamil Nadu by winning 108 seats, there is suspense regarding government formation as it is far from majority. Thalapathy Vijay has met Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar twice and staked claim to form the government, but both times the Governor turned him away saying that he should first gather full majority. Meanwhile, a different murmur has started in politics in the state. There is talk that DMK and AIADMK together can form a coalition government.

On the other hand, amidst discussions of coming together with DMK and AIADMK, Thalapathy Vijay’s party TVK has threatened resignation of MLAs. TVK says that if DMK and AIADMK form the government together, all its 108 MLAs will resign. Let us tell you that Vijay needs majority with 118 MLAs whereas currently he has the figure of 113 including Congress MLAs. TVK is said to have sought support from the Left parties and a meeting of the CPI(M) Executive Council has been called to respond to TVK’s appeal.

AIADMK MP M. Thambi Durai said, many discussions are going on at the moment, so I cannot say anything at the moment. Everything will become clear with time. We hope that good results will emerge. My party and my leaders will come back. There is a feeling among the people that AIADMK must come to power. Meanwhile, AIADMK MLAs staying in a private resort in Puducherry are returning to Chennai. On the other hand, DMK spokesperson TKS Elangovan said, only the party president will take the final order and final decision. This is a normal process and this time also, since it is a meeting of MLAs, the MLAs will have to obey our party president.
