New Delhi. Amid the ongoing struggle for government formation in Tamil Nadu, TVK Chief Thalapathy Vijay once again met Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar today and staked claim to form the government. This is Thalapathy Vijay’s fourth meeting with the Governor since the assembly election results came out. Vijay now has the strength of 120 seats including the MLAs of Congress, CPI, CPM, VCK and IUCL, which is more than the majority figure of 118. The Governor has invited TVK to form the government and Vijay will take oath as Chief Minister at 3.15 pm on Sunday.

On the other hand, party supporters and workers have started celebrating outside the office of Vijay’s party TVK. VCK chief Thirumavalavan said that we are supporting TVK to help Vijay form the government to stop President’s rule in Tamil Nadu. He also said that the VCK is still with the DMK-led alliance. The support given to TVK is aimed at stopping President’s rule. Earlier, the Indian Union Muslim League party has also submitted a letter of support declaring unconditional support to TVK for government formation in the state.

On IUML and VCK giving letters of support to TVK to form the government, TVK General Secretary Arunraj said, we sought support from IUML and other like-minded parties and IUML leaders have shown generosity in extending their support to TVK to form the government, for which I thank them. Let us tell you that before today, Vijay had met the Governor thrice but due to lack of majority, he was sent back by the Governor.
