Chandranath Rath Murder Case: CBI will now investigate the Chandranath Rath murder case, was the PA of West Bengal CM Shubhendu Adhikari.
Kolkata. CBI will investigate the murder of Chandranath Rath, PA of West Bengal CM Subhendu Adhikari. Shubhendu Sarkar had recommended a CBI inquiry into the murder of Chandranath Rath. Earlier, the West Bengal government had formed a SIT to investigate the murder of Chandranath Rath. SIT had arrested three people from Buxar, Bihar and UP in the case of murder of PA of Shubhendu Adhikari. Barasat Court of North 24 Parganas had sent all of them on 13-day police remand on Monday.

Chandranath Rath, who was PA of Shubhendu Adhikari, earlier worked in the Indian Air Force. After retiring from the Indian Air Force, Chandranath Rath started working as Shubhendu’s PA. Chandranath Rath was 41 years old. His family consists of mother, brother and brother’s wife and children. Chandranath did not marry. When there was jubilation in the entire state after BJP’s victory in West Bengal, on the night of May 6, Chandranath Rath was going to his home in Madhyamgram in North 24 Parganas. Some distance away from the house, miscreants had killed Chandranath Rath by firing indiscriminately. In this incident, the driver of Shubhendu Adhikari’s PA was also hit by several bullets.

The reason for the murder of Chandranath Rath is not clear yet. The task of finding out whether there is a political reason or something else behind the murder of Shubhendu Adhikari’s PA has now fallen on the CBI. However, on the very night of Chandranath Rath’s murder, Shubhendu Adhikari had expressed apprehension that there could be some link to Chandranath Rath’s murder due to Mamata Banerjee’s defeat in Bhawanipur. In such a situation, it will be a big challenge for the CBI to get to the bottom of this murder case. The way Chandranath Rath was murdered by stopping the car and using a foreign weapon, it is clear that professional shooters are involved in this.
