NTA DG Abhishek Singh On NEET-UG 2026 Exam Cancellation: What did NTA DG Abhishek Singh say on the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026 exam, know when the exam will be held again?
New Delhi. On the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026 exam, National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General (DG) Abhishek Singh said, the investigation of the case has been handed over to CBI. All the accused will be caught and sent to jail, so that the future of the students is not adversely affected. We will conduct re-examination for the students and it will be done in a completely fair manner. The new exam date will be announced in 7 to 10 days. We have also decided that no additional fee will be charged from the students for re-examination. Also, the fee charged for the first examination will also be refunded to them.

Giving information about the entire incident, DG Abhishek Singh said that on the night of May 7, we had received information through a whistleblower that before the NEET-UG 2026 exam, a paper was received on WhatsApp in which there were some questions which were matching with the exam questions. The exam which was held on 3rd went very smoothly, the exam was over and we received all the sheets. After the examination, the evaluation process was going on. It was our endeavor that even after the examination, we would take any information as seriously as we were taking it before the examination. Our task was to verify these allegations and also find out whether those PDFs were available to anyone before May 3, the day of the exam.

He said that upon investigation it was found that some questions were matching our question paper. It was also revealed that on May 1 and 2, that PDF was available on some people’s phones. This was against our ‘zero tolerance’ policy. This would have adversely affected the future of the students who were studying hard for the exam. Therefore, keeping their interest in mind, we have decided to cancel the NEET UG 2026 exam and re-conduct it.
