New Delhi. Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has given a strong message to Pakistan. He has said that if Pakistan continues to shelter terrorists and conspire against India, it will have to face serious consequences. He clearly said in a warning tone that Pakistan will have to decide whether it wants to remain a part of geography or history, otherwise not. During the Army Dialogue program, General Upendra Dwivedi gave a clear message that India is not going to show any leniency regarding terrorism.

This statement of the Army Chief reiterates India’s national security policy and the Modi government’s stance of zero tolerance against terrorism. In the Army Samvad programme, the Army Chief also talked about border security, the current global situation and the challenges of modern warfare. Apart from this, he also discussed the sacrifice and hard work of the soldiers while on duty. General Dwivedi said that an army officer gets the greatest happiness when the soldiers accept and respect him and when the soldiers have complete trust in their officer. When a soldier embraces you after a successful operation, there is no hierarchy, he considers you his comrade. This is the best thing.

He further said that a soldier is always short of time, not in the military unit but with the family. The soldier gets very little time to spend with his family members and even on important occasions, the soldier is performing duty on the border, away from his home. For example, soldiers posted in high hilly areas are often unable to attend the weddings of their families. They are often unable to be present even at the birth of their children. He said that although we are working in this direction, sometimes it is not in our control.
