Suvendu Government’s Second Cabinet Meeting Decisions: Rs 3,000 monthly to women, free travel in bus, many decisions taken in the second cabinet meeting of Subhendu Government of West Bengal


New Delhi. The second cabinet meeting of the BJP government led by Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari in West Bengal was held today in which many important decisions were taken. While giving information about the cabinet meeting, Women and Child Development Minister in Bengal Government, Agnimitra Paul said that the state government has given in-principle approval to implement Annapurna Scheme. Under this, a monthly amount of Rs 3,000 will start reaching the bank accounts of women from June 1, 2026. Apart from this, women have been given the gift of free travel in government buses of Bengal.

The Subhendu government has also approved the formation of the Seventh State Pay Commission for government employees, affiliated statutory bodies and educational institutions. Apart from this, the government has decided to ban government financial assistance to various groups on the basis of religious classification. Minister Agnimitra Paul said that women who are beneficiaries of Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana will automatically get the benefits of Annapurna Bhandar Yojana, they do not need to apply separately for this. Whereas for those who have not received this benefit till now, the portal will soon be opened, where they will be able to complete the process of their application.

Earlier, in the first cabinet meeting held on May 11, a decision was taken to implement Ayushman Bharat Scheme in the state with immediate effect. Along with this, approval was also given to give land to BSF for fencing on India’s border with Bangladesh. This land will be handed over to BSF in the next 45 days. The BJP government had also taken a big decision giving relief to the youth who were preparing for government jobs. The government had said that there has been no recruitment on government posts in the state since 2015. In such a situation, it was announced to give 5 years relaxation in age limit to the candidates.
