Petrol-Diesel Price Hike: The price of petrol and diesel increased for the second time in a week, know now what is their rate in which city.
New Delhi. The prices of petrol and diesel have increased once again. Petroleum companies have increased the prices of petrol and diesel for the second time in a week. This time the rates of petrol and diesel have increased by 90 paise per liter. Earlier last Friday, petroleum companies had increased the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 3 per liter. Earlier, the price of LPG was also increased.

After the latest increase, the price of petrol in Delhi has become Rs 98.64 and the price of diesel has become Rs 91.58 per liter. Now in Mumbai the price of petrol is Rs 107.59 and diesel is Rs 94.08, in Kolkata the price of petrol is Rs 109.70 and diesel is Rs 96.07 and in Chennai the price of petrol is Rs 104.49 and diesel is Rs 96.11 per liter. The reason for the increase in the price of petrol and diesel is the sharp rise in the price of crude oil. Brent crude, considered the best, is above $109 per barrel. At the same time, every barrel of WTI crude is being sold for more than $102.

The reason for the increase in the price of crude oil is America’s war with Iran. America and Israel attacked Iran on 28 February. After which the supply of crude oil and gas through Hormuz has been disrupted. Due to this the price of crude oil has increased. India imports 85 percent of its crude oil needs. Due to increase in the price of crude oil, petroleum companies were incurring losses of Rs 1000 crore every day. According to the latest data, due to the increase of Rs 3 per liter in petrol and diesel, this loss has now come down to Rs 750 crore per day. If the price of crude oil increases further, then in the coming days, oil companies will have no option but to increase the rates of petrol and diesel further. To prevent this situation, PM Modi had recently appealed to the countrymen to reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel.
