MEA On Deportation Of Infiltrators: The process of sending back infiltrators is going on as per law, Indian Foreign Ministry gave update

New Delhi. The central government is continuously making efforts to send the infiltrators back to their country. A campaign is also being run by the administration to identify Bangladeshi infiltrators hiding in different states of the country. The Indian External Affairs Ministry has also given an update in this regard. Regarding the question asked about Bangladeshi immigrants, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that appropriate action is being taken against the foreign citizens living illegally in India, including the citizens of Bangladesh, on the basis of law.

Jaiswal said, as far as deportation of infiltrators is concerned, a bilateral arrangement exists for this. We refer such cases to the Bangladesh authorities so that they can confirm the nationality of these people. Once their nationality is confirmed, we begin the deportation process. Many of these requests are currently pending with Bangladesh, and we hope that they will be processed expeditiously so that the deportation of persons living illegally in India can be done in a smooth and efficient manner. It is noteworthy that a large number of Bangladeshi citizens have entered India through illegal infiltration from the border of West Bengal and other border areas and spread across the country.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah repeatedly reiterates the commitment of the Central Government to send back the infiltrators. Recently, the Home Minister had said that the government will not file any case against the infiltrators who go back voluntarily and will help them go back to their country. Just two days ago, a total of 131 Bangladeshi infiltrators who were staying in India without any valid documents were arrested from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Apart from this, the papers of 160 other suspects are being investigated.
