Rajnath Singh At DRDO: ‘Project Kusha’ will become a game changer in India’s security system, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said while praising DRDO

New Delhi. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh attended the program of Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in Hyderabad today. He said that ‘Project Kusha’ will prove to be a game-changer for India’s security system. It is a world-class indigenous air defense system, which has proved its importance during ‘Operation Sindoor’. At a time when various types of threats were looming on our borders from the sky, the way our air defense system foiled the intentions of the enemies was incredible. Just as Govardhan Mountain protected the entire Braj region in the Dwapar era, similarly our air defense system provided security cover to the entire region during that time.

Rajnath Singh said, Akash and BrahMos developed by DIA have demonstrated their excellent capability in real time situation during Operation Sindoor. The success of these systems has proved that India has the ability to compete in the global defense technology ecosystem today. In this changing era, DRDO’s responsibility is not limited only to adapting itself to technological changes. While anticipating future needs, we will also have to work on future technologies that will give us strategic advantage.

The Defense Minister further said, we not only have to solve the challenges of the present, but also have to work keeping in mind the needs of the future war today itself. He said, I am confident that by working swiftly, you will make India completely self-reliant in the defense sector. In achieving this national goal, the role of missile and strategic systems i.e. MSS cluster is very important. I am confident that this cluster will remain a center of innovation, excellence and strategic strength in the future and will provide new energy to India’s journey of security and self-reliance.
