New Delhi. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cleared all the doubts arising in the minds of students and parents by issuing guidelines regarding the implementation of the three-language policy. CBSE has given relief to some students from the three language policy. According to CBSE, the new language policy will not be applicable to the existing batch of class 10th. This means that they will not have to appear for any new subject in their board exams. Along with this, when the students of the current batch studying in 7th, 8th and 9th class go to class 10th, they will not need to appear for the board exam in the third language.

CBSE has clarified that the students of the current batch studying in classes 7, 8 and 9, who have already taken two foreign languages, will study one additional Indian language along with those languages. It has been told by the board that study material will be made available according to the class in a fixed time frame. The process of learning language will be interesting and informative which will help in the all-round development of the student. Let us inform you that CBSE has decided to implement three language formula from class 6 from July 1 this year. Under this, from this year onwards, apart from English, students will have to study two other Indian languages in CBSE from class 6th. English has been placed as a foreign language.

It is noteworthy that a petition was also filed in the Supreme Court against the decision to implement the three-language policy of CBSE. The hearing on the petition filed by an organization named Friends of People for Active Democracy was held on June 18, however, the petitioner’s demand for an immediate ban on the three language policy was rejected. The court had said that any order can be given on this only after a detailed hearing.
