Ayodhya Ram Mandir Donation Theft Case: Ayodhya lawyers filed complaint against Champat Rai, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao.


New Delhi. Ayodhya’s lawyers have filed a complaint with the police to register an FIR against Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s general secretary Champat Rai, member Anil Mishra and temple construction in-charge Gopal Rao in the case of theft of offerings from the Ram temple. In the meeting held this morning under the chairmanship of Ayodhya Bar Association President Kalika Prasad Mishra, it was decided that if FIR is not registered even after filing the complaint, then the court will be approached. Earlier, the lawyers also demonstrated at the court gate.

In this case, the police had registered an FIR against Champat Rai’s driver Tinnu Yadav and 8 people named Anukalp Mishra, Ramashankar Mishra, Luvkush Mishra, Avinash Shukla, Manish Yadav, Subhash Srivastava and Karunesh Pandey. At present all these accused are in jail. Earlier, the Ayodhya Bar Association had decided that no lawyer would fight the case of those accused of theft of offerings. On the other hand, the government has given additional time to the SIT formed to investigate the donation theft case to complete the investigation. Now SIT has time till July 15 to submit the detailed report.

Let us tell you that after this matter came to light, Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and member Anil Mishra have already resigned on moral grounds. However, his resignation has not been accepted yet. The meeting of the temple trust is proposed on 6 July 2026 and in that meeting the decision on the resignation of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra will be taken. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured everyone that the SIT investigation will turn milk into water. Along with this, the CM has also clearly said that whoever is guilty will not be spared at any cost.
