Delhi Police Busted Gang: Delhi Police busted a big gang involved in re-packing and selling expired food items, 7 arrested
New Delhi. Delhi Police has raided Okhla and busted a gang that used to sell expired food items by changing their expiry date. The team of Okhla Industrial Area police station has arrested seven people. A large number of food items of many international brands have been seized from the place where the raid was conducted. The value of the seized food items is estimated to be around Rs 20 lakh. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and an NGO named ‘Mission Mukti’ helped the police in busting this racket.

According to Delhi Police, on the basis of secret information they raided ‘M/s Westnade Corporation Pvt. Ltd.’ located in Phase-2, Okhla. Here, there was illegal sale of expired international brand food items, manipulation in manufacturing and expiry dates and repackaging of expired items and selling them in the market. These people used to erase the manufacturing and expiry dates written on food packets by using chemicals and thinners. After this, new fake dates and barcodes were printed on them through printing machines. Delhi Police has found many food products like Maggi, cold drink, Bournvita, Horlicks, ghee, salt, pepper boat juice from there. Although the raid was conducted here on the basis of information about the work of minor children, the investigation revealed a different matter. Under the guidance of Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner Dr. Hemant Tiwari, Inspector Anil Malik and his team, under the supervision of ACP Anil Sharma, have busted this gang.
These seven people have been arrested
Darshan Singh Sachdeva (Owner), Nitesh Bhardwaj (Manager), Narendra Kumar (Accountant), Kapil (Operator), Lucky Ojha (Ware House Keeper), Prem Yadav (Supervisor) and Pawan Kumar Yadav (Supervisor) have been arrested.
