Ayodhya. Along with the SIT, the police investigation has also intensified in the case of donation theft in the temple of Lord Ramlala in Ramnagari Ayodhya. Ayodhya Police has taken the custody of Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra and Karunesh Pandey among the 8 accused arrested for theft of donations in Ram temple. Ayodhya Court on Tuesday had ordered to hand these three accused into police custody. Ayodhya police took all of them from Ayodhya jail on Wednesday morning. Earlier on Sunday, Ayodhya Police had gone to the jail and interrogated the five accused in the Ram Mandir donation theft case for several hours.

Only after interrogating the accused in jail, the police had applied in the court for the custody of Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra and Karunesh Pandey. Earlier, the police had taken another accused of donation theft, Avinash Shukla, on remand and interrogated him. After this interrogation, it was reported quoting police sources that all the accused of theft of Ram Mandir donation used to go to a secluded place and distribute the amount. After the Ram Mandir donation theft case came to light, UP CM Yogi Adityanath had constituted SIT under the chairmanship of Lucknow Division Commissioner. SIT has submitted its preliminary report. In which the finger has been pointed towards Dr. Anil Mishra who was associated with the trust. In such a situation, the coming days may be heavy for Anil Mishra.

At the same time, the statement given to the SIT by Champat Rai, who resigned from the post of General Secretary of Ram Mandir Trust, was leaked on Tuesday. In this statement, Champat Rai has said that Anil Mishra had signed an MOU with State Bank for counting the amount of donation. Whereas, earlier he used to sign every MOU. Champat Rai has clearly said in the statement that State Bank officials and Anil Mishra did not follow the SOP fixed for counting the amount of donation. He also says that he came to know about the MoU in the month of June.
