Ketan Agarwal Case: New trouble for the family of Sia Goyal, the main accused in the Ketan Agarwal case, FDA gave notice and closed the shop.


Pune. A new problem has arisen for the family of Siya Goyal, accused in the alleged murder of Ketan Aggarwal. Maharashtra’s food regulator has issued a notice to Sia Goyal’s family’s spice and dry fruit shop for violation of rules and asked it to close its business. News agency PTI has quoted sources as saying that this shop in the name of M/s BG Goyal & Company is located in the middle market yard of Pune city.

According to the information, Food and Drug Administration of Maharashtra i.e. FDA investigated this shop of Siya Goyal’s family. During this period, FDA received information about violation of rules. As a result, the FDA asked Siya Goyal’s family to keep the shop closed until further orders. Maharashtra FDA has also taken samples of turmeric powder, sesame seeds and soybean chunks from the shop of Siya Goyal’s family. FDA also seized 4172 kg of goods worth more than Rs 8 lakh from the shop of Sia Goyal’s family. There have been allegations of possible adulteration of food items, non-compliance of rules related to labeling and violation of the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act.

In the notice given to Siya Goyal’s family, it has been said that even in the business license, corrections giving necessary information were not made. For this reason the business has been asked to remain closed. Sia Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary are in jail. Pune Rural Police has accused Siya and Chetan of killing Ketan Aggarwal from Lohagarh Fort by pushing him into a ditch. The incident of Ketan falling into the moat from Lohagarh Fort took place on June 18. Ketan’s father Vishal Agarwal has also alleged that on June 14, Sia had tried to push Ketan into the ditch by taking him to Lohagarh Fort.
