12 years of Modi government, how were BJP’s big promises fulfilled? –

Tezzbuzz Desk: In the year 2014, when the country witnessed a major political change, a new chapter began in Indian politics with many big promises. On 16 May 2014, the results of the Lok Sabha elections gave a clear majority to the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA and formed the government under the leadership of Narendra Modi. The promises made at that time included big issues like construction of Ram temple, removal of Article 370, abolition of triple talaq and Naxal-free India.

Now, 12 years later, many of these promises have been implemented, and the government seems to be getting closer to its goal of a ‘Naxal-free India’.

Naxal free India: towards the last stage

The central government had set the goal of freeing the country from Naxalism. Amit Shah set the deadline for this as 31 March 2026. After this, the action of the security forces intensified, many big Naxalite commanders surrendered and many were killed in encounters. Now the government is close to achieving this target.

Ram Mandir: Centuries old dispute ends

Construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya was one of the most prominent promises of BJP. This case remained one of India’s longest and most talked about legal disputes. Finally, in 2019, the Supreme Court, while giving a historic verdict, ordered to give the disputed land for the construction of the temple, while asked to give separate land for the mosque.

After this, on August 5, 2020, Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the temple through ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra’ Trust. Then on 22 January 2024, the grand Ram temple was inaugurated in Ayodhya, which symbolized the end of the long struggle and left a deep impact on the socio-political scenario of the country.

Decision on Article 370 and Triple Talaq also

The government took the historic decision to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, ending the special status of the state. Apart from this, the practice of triple talaq was also abolished by making a law, which was considered a big step towards women’s rights.

In the last 12 years, the Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed to have fulfilled many of its major promises. Now the goal of Naxal-free India is on the verge of being achieved, which is being seen as another big achievement of this era.
