Maharashtra made Guinness World Record, installed 45,911 solar pumps in just one month
Devendra Fadnavis’ Mahayuti government has completed one year in Maharashtra. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, while addressing the people in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, said that Maharashtra is progressing rapidly with the trust of the public. Maharashtra has created a Guinness World Record by installing 45,911 solar pumps in just one month.
Fadnavis said that when he became the Chief Minister for the first time in 2014, the biggest demand of the farmers was the availability of water and seeds. In view of the problems of farmers in Marathwada, 1 lakh solar pump scheme was started. The scheme stopped midway, but after the government came to power in 2022, it was given momentum again under the Kusum scheme with the help of the Central Government.
The Chief Minister said that due to the works of Mahavitaran, 65 percent of the solar pumps installed in the entire country today have been installed in Maharashtra. Due to this, Maharashtra has reached number 1 position in the country.
He further informed that Maharashtra has created a Guinness World Record by installing 45,911 solar pumps in just one month. This achievement was achieved despite criticism from the opposition. Fadnavis expressed his gratitude to the Guinness World Records officer present at the programme.
The Chief Minister said that the target is to install 10 lakh solar pumps next year, after which the state will get Rs 10 crore.
He also said that Maharashtra is becoming the first state in the country, where farmers will get completely solar energy based seeds and irrigation facility, which will make food production possible without pollution.
The Chief Minister said this year has been marked by rapid growth, economic development and administrative momentum, amid persistent political instability arising from the coalition structure and broader social pressures.
Fadnavis said that the main focus of the administration has been to complete major urban and state infrastructure projects at a rapid pace. Special instructions are also being given to the officers for this. Efforts were made towards ease of doing business and bringing global investment. Many policy and administrative reforms were carried out in many sectors. He said the government has finalized plans for the proposed third Mumbai as the Navi Mumbai International Airport is scheduled to open from December 25.
