Madhya Pradesh: Female excise officer suspended on charges of illegal recovery

Assistant Excise Commissioner Mandakini Dixit, in-charge of Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh, has been suspended on allegations of illegal recovery. This action has been taken on the instructions of State Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

In fact, Dewas excise contractor Dinesh Makwana had released a video before committing suicide, in which he had made serious allegations against Mandakini Dixit of demanding illegal money. When this matter came to light, the Chief Minister gave instructions for action, on which Commercial Tax Department Deputy Secretary Vandana Sharma has issued an order to suspend Mandakini Dixit.

In the order issued by the Deputy Secretary of the Commercial Tax Department, it has been said that a video was made by Dinesh Makwana, a liquor contractor from Dewas, before committing suicide.

In the alleged video, a serious allegation of demanding illegal money was made against Mandakini Dixit, the Assistant Excise Officer in-charge of the district, and there was talk of committing suicide. The order further states that the allegations leveled against Dixit are prima facie of very serious category and are contrary to the duties and responsibilities of government service, which is a clear violation of Rule 3 of Madhya Pradesh Service Civil Rules 1965, hence Mandakini Dixit is suspended with immediate effect.

During the suspension period, his headquarters will be the office of Excise Commissioner, Gwalior. In fact, last month, excise contractor Makwana had committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance. Earlier he had released a video. In this video, he had alleged that Assistant Excise Officer Mandakini Dixit demands Rs 1.5 lakh from him per shop. It is not possible for them to pay this amount and the officials are harassing them, hence they are taking steps like suicide.
