BJP MP Arun Govil told on Monday (8 December) why it is necessary to install CCTV cameras in mosques and madrassas across the country? Talking to the news agency, he said that from the security point of view, it is necessary to install CCTV cameras in mosques and madrassas, because both these are religious places, where many people visit every day.
Meanwhile, those who raised questions on this demand were also targeted. He said that my simple question is why CCTV cameras are installed. These are installed from security point of view, so that any kind of unpleasant situation can be prevented from happening on the ground. Keeping this in view, we have demanded that CCTV cameras should be installed in all madrasas and mosques, so that we do not have to face any kind of problems in future.
BJP MP Arun Govil said that even in temples and Gurudwaras, CCTV cameras are installed keeping in mind the security. In such a situation, if we are demanding installation of CCTV cameras in mosques and madrasas, then no one should have any objection to it, because it should be our responsibility to ensure the security of all types of religious places. Many people visit these religious places every day. No untoward situation should arise with them. In view of this, CCTV cameras become necessary.
Arun Govil claimed that earlier a ‘school of terror’ was running in a mosque in Faridabad. There people were being inspired to take steps towards terrorism. In such a situation, if the demand is being raised to install CCTV cameras to monitor all these activities, then I think it is an absolutely right step. No one should have any objection to this.
Referring to the mosque in Faridabad, he said that if such a campaign is being started at religious places, then my simple question is that how can they play with people’s lives, it is absolutely wrong. We cannot accept this kind of situation at all. In view of all these situations, I had raised the demand that like all religious places, CCTV cameras should also be installed in mosques. This is a question of security of 140 crore people.
