Union Minister Giriraj Singh targeted the opposition ahead of the discussion in Parliament on Monday (December 8) to commemorate 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’. He said that some people do not respect Vande Mataram. They consider Babri Masjid instead. While talking to the media in the Parliament complex on Monday, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said, “150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ have been completed. This song of independence came from the land of Bengal and it is India’s heritage. It is necessary to discuss it in Parliament.”
He further said, “If ‘Vande Mataram’ will not be discussed in this grand temple of Indian democracy, then where will it be? Some people do not even respect ‘Vande Mataram’, rather they respect Babri Masjid instead.”
After the foundation stone of ‘Babri Masjid’ was laid by suspended TMC MLA Humayun Kabir in Beldanga, West Bengal, Giriraj Singh made serious allegations against Trinamool Congress and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He said, “This foundation was not laid by Humayun Kabir, but by Mamata Banerjee. Now she is doing drama and getting statements against it from her leaders and MPs.”
The Union Minister described the construction of ‘Babri Masjid’ in Bengal as a ‘hidden agenda’ of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He said, “This foundation has been laid as per a well-thought-out strategy. It will not be opposed only in Bengal, but Mamata Banerjee will also have to face the punishment for it.”
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh also attacked Mamata Banerjee over the ‘Babri Masjid’ controversy. Calling West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee a ‘symbol of cruelty’, Tarun Chugh said, “She should tell how under her leadership, suspended TMC MLAs in Bengal are building mosques in the name of ‘Babar’. The country will run on the ideology of ‘Parshuram’ and not on the path of foreign invaders and robbers. Mamata Banerjee is putting Bengal in danger, but the people of Bengal will give a befitting reply to it.”
