Trump Signs Ai National Framework Warns China

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order, the purpose of which is to centralize the rules of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the country. He says that due to different states having their own rules, technological development may slow down and America’s advantage over China may be in danger.

While signing the order, Trump said that America is far ahead in the field of AI. We have a tremendous industry, where we are far ahead of China and other countries. He said that this is a big global competition and only one person will win in it, either America or China. At present America is moving ahead.

Through this order, the government wants to create a single national framework for AI in the entire country. The administration says that if each state has different rules, then investment in data centers, computing infrastructure and energy related projects may stop. Trump said that if companies had to seek separate approval from 50 states, development would become impossible.

A senior government official said that AI leadership is directly linked to economic development, employment, national security and technological capability. Therefore, it is important that this system runs within a single national framework.

At the event, David Sachs said that laws on AI are being made very fast in the states. More than a thousand proposals have been received and more than a hundred have been passed. Most of these are in California, New York and Illinois.

Sachs said the federal government would work with Parliament to create a national framework and prevent overly stringent state-level regulations, while maintaining essential provisions in areas such as child protection.

Speakers at the program also described AI as a battle of political values. Trump said that if America slows down AI development, China will get the biggest benefit from it. When asked whether he was more worried about China or the risks posed by artificial intelligence, Trump replied, “Both.”

He said that due to AI, rapid progress is being made in medicine and medical research and despite its beginning, the technology has reached much further than expected.

This executive order calls on the government to take strict steps to ensure that AI can function smoothly within a single national framework and not be hindered by individual state regulations.
