Such documents have emerged from the hideout of a prominent accused in Haryana, which show that he used to mortgage the land or property documents of people in the name of sending them to America. The investigating agency says that by this the agents ensured that the money was safe and the victims could not back out.
Mobile phones, documents and suspicious records have been seized from other locations in Punjab and Haryana, which can help in linking the entire network. ED is conducting forensic investigation of all these digital data and documents. The investigation is based on FIRs by Punjab and Haryana Police, which mention an organized network of travel agents, middlemen and hawala operators.
Investigation has revealed that this syndicate used to send people to America via Mexico via South American countries. In this dangerous and illegal process, people’s lives were put at risk, while the agents earned crores of rupees.
ED says that many arrests and big revelations are possible after this action. The agency is busy unraveling the layers of the entire Donkey Route network, so that the entire system of illegal human trafficking and money laundering related to it can be tightened.
