Mahayuti crosses 200 mark, BJP’s century, Shinde’s half-century

As soon as the results of municipal elections in Maharashtra started coming in on Sunday (December 21), by afternoon it was clear that Mahayuti had crossed the 200 seats mark and had completely defeated Mahavikas Aghadi. The results of the Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat elections were to be declared on December 21. In such a situation, everyone’s attention was on these results. While it was being said that there were rifts in the Grand Alliance, there were clashes at many places between Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, all three of them together had a strong hold on these elections.

It was being claimed that there would be a tough fight between Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi, but in reality nothing like this happened. Now during the results, the dominance of Mahayuti has been seen in the entire state. Mahayuti has won more than 200 seats, out of which BJP has won 118, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has won 59 and Ajit Pawar’s NCP has won 36 seats. In Mahavikas Aghadi, Congress won 33 seats, but Ubhatha Shiv Sena and NCP Sharad Pawar were seen getting reduced to 9 and 8 seats one after the other. Of course, all the results have not been declared yet, so there will be some more changes in it.

In the campaign meeting held for these elections, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar created a stir in the entire state. However, at the same time the leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi did not go out to campaign in this manner. The leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi were claiming that this is an election of the workers. The elections for local bodies, which were stalled for the last four years, have finally taken place in Maharashtra. In the first phase, voting was held in 246 city councils and 42 nagar panchayats. Then voting took place on 2 and 20 December.
