Fadnavis Thanks Voters Local Elections
In the trends of local body elections 2025 in Maharashtra, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again emerged as the biggest force. After these results, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis thanked the voters and openly praised the party candidates and workers. He said that the performance of BJP in the state shows that the public has expressed confidence in the party’s policies and leadership.
On Sunday (December 21), Chief Minister Fadnavis, while reacting on the social media platform X, attributed this success to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President J. Gave it under the guidance of P. Nadda and Organization General Secretary Nitin Nabin. He also praised the efforts of Maharashtra BJP President Ravindra Chavan and party workers across the state. In his message, he wrote, “Once again BJP is number 1 in the state!”, which drew enthusiasm among the party supporters.
The counting of votes for the posts of president and members in 286 municipal councils and nagar panchayats in the state began at 10 am. According to the trends, the ruling Mahayuti alliance seems to be getting a big lead, with BJP in the lead.

According to the figures so far, BJP is leading on 117 seats. After this, Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena is leading on 59 seats, Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is leading on 37 seats. At the same time, Congress is seen getting 31 seats, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) 10 seats and Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray led Shiv Sena is seen getting 9 seats.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also reacted to the BJP’s performance. He called it a victory for the hard work of the party workers. “Yours, ours, BJP belongs to everyone, and this is the victory of the workers,” Gadkari said and thanked the public for their trust in his development-oriented style of functioning.

Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar credited these results to the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the results of the municipal and municipal council elections declared today in Maharashtra clearly show that his leadership has been accepted across the state. Under his leadership, the BJP achieved an unprecedented landslide victory, winning more than double the seats compared to other parties.”
