These habits are the enemies of the eyes, protect them like this

Eyes are the most precious part of the human body, through which we see the beauty of the world. But some careless everyday habits can gradually weaken vision. The matter of relief is that it is possible to avoid it by being alert in time.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, many common habits associated with our daily routine inadvertently harm the eyes. If these habits are improved in time, the eyes can be kept healthy for a long time. Small changes made in lifestyle not only protect vision but also prevent serious problems in future. Eye care is not an option, but the most effective way to take responsibility towards yourself.

Excessive alcohol consumption:- Excessive alcohol consumption weakens the eye muscles and leads to vitamin deficiency. This can cause blurred vision, increase the problem of dry eyes and in the long run, there is a risk of cataract or retina damage.

Lack of sleep:- Staying awake all night or not getting enough sleep makes the eyes tired. This causes irritation, redness, dryness and dark circles in the eyes. Due to lack of sleep, the eyes cannot repair themselves, which can lead to weak vision. It is necessary to sleep 7-8 hours daily.

Ignoring eye fatigue:- Watching the screen for a long time, reading a book or working and not taking rest even when you feel tired puts stress on the eye muscles. This can cause eye strain, headache and weakness of vision. Ignoring fatigue can cause permanent damage.

Tobacco and betel chewing:- Smoking or tobacco consumption is like poison for the eyes. The nicotine and toxins present in it damage the retina and optic nerve. Due to this, the risk of macular degeneration, cataract and blindness increases manifold.

Rubbing eyes with dirty hands:- Rubbing eyes if hands have bacteria or dirt on them can cause infection. There is a risk of conjunctivitis, irritation or serious infection. Always touch your eyes with clean hands.

To keep your eyes healthy, get enough sleep, stay away from alcohol and tobacco, take breaks from screens and take care of hygiene. If you notice any problem in your eyes, consult a doctor immediately.
