Government should rise above Hindu-Muslim politics, focus on Bangladesh situation: Imran Masood!

Congress MP Imran Masood has launched a scathing attack on the Central Government and the Prime Minister regarding the atrocities being committed on Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. He said that he sees only Hindu-Muslim politics within the country, but he does not pay any attention to what is happening in the neighboring country Bangladesh.

Imran Masood clearly said that this is not just a matter of Hindus, but all the minorities are being crushed there. He said that the Central Government thinks that Hindus and Muslims are only in India.

The government is not concerned about the people who are troubled in Bangladesh, who are minorities. He says that the situation in Bangladesh is continuously worsening and attacks on minorities are increasing there.

Referring to the recent tours, he said that PM Modi went to West Bengal, gave election speeches there and went to Assam, gave election speeches there too. But, the question is, are the Hindus living in Bangladesh not our relatives? He sarcastically said that they look after the Hindus here, but no attention is being paid towards those who are in trouble.

Imran Masood also said that earlier also Congress had raised this issue loudly. He said that it was only when we stood up in the Parliament and demonstrated that the Indian government’s eyes were opened. At that time Congress had demanded that at least the Indian Ambassador to Bangladesh should be called and a notice should be given to the government there and a strong message should be sent.

He demanded the government to take a strict stance regarding Bangladesh. Imran Masood said that if Bangladesh is becoming an anti-India base, then India should show strictness there for its security and sovereignty.

He said that Sheikh Hasina is currently in India and a big leader of her party is also present here. In such a situation, the Indian government needs to take strong steps.

Imran Masood said that the country we have built is staring at us today and the government is sitting silently. He says that if India does not take concrete steps in time, the situation may worsen in the future.
