Adani Group’s role in the global AI sector is continuously growing: Gautam Adani

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said on Sunday that India is entering an important phase where technology, talent and national purpose must move forward together. He appealed to the youth to come forward and lead in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

In his address at the inauguration of Vidya Pratisthan’s Sharad Pawar Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CoE-AI) in Baramati, Maharashtra, Gautam Adani said, “India’s inexhaustible strength lies in its ability to unite people, institutions and long-term thinking. Now it is this thinking that the youth must adopt about AI, not just by being users, but by becoming its creators and leaders.”

Understanding people’s concerns regarding AI, he said that history provides us reassurance in this matter.

The Adani Group Chairman further said, “From industrial revolutions to India’s digital transformation, every major technological revolution has enhanced the potential of humans.”

He said that AI will take this further as it will bring intelligence and power directly into the hands of common people. This will give an opportunity to youth of every section to participate in development.

Gautam Adani also warned that leadership in the field of AI cannot be outsourced. “In a time when intelligence is increasingly shaping economic power and national influence, relying solely on foreign technology could be risky,” he said.

He said that data, decision-making ability and technical strength should be in the interest of the country. India needs to create its own AI models, strong computing capabilities and secure technological systems, so that the country’s economic security, cultural confidence and independence are maintained.

He said that Adani Group’s role in the global AI field is continuously increasing.

Adani Group is making major investments in data centres, digital infrastructure and clean energy to enable large-scale computing. For this reason, big global companies like Google and Microsoft are showing interest in AI related development in India.

This Center of Excellence has been built under Vidya Pratishthan, an educational institution of Baramati. For this, Gautam Adani had contributed Rs 25 crore in the year 2023. The objective of this initiative is to promote advanced research, skill development and industry-related training.

According to people associated with this project, this center will work on the use of AI in areas like agriculture, health, governance and industry. Also, special attention will be given to cooperation between educational institutions and private companies.
