Winter Session: Not a single adjournment, House proceedings lasted 24 hours 50 minutes!

The third (winter) session of the year 2025 of the 18th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh emerged as an example of discipline, smooth functioning and legislative productivity. In this session, which lasted from December 19 to December 24, during the four sessions, the proceedings of the House were not adjourned even once and all the scheduled legislative tasks were completed successfully.

Giving this information, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana said that the adjournment time during the winter session was zero, while the proceedings of the House continued uninterrupted for a total of 24 hours 50 minutes. He said that this session was a reflection of parliamentary traditions and the efficiency of the House.

The Speaker said that a total of 2776 questions were received during the session, out of which 95.46 percent questions were sent by members through online medium. Among these, less listed starred question was 01, starred question was 451 and unstarred question was 1842.

The answered questions included starred question 51 and unstarred question 530. All the questions and answers were received online from the government and made available on the members and public portal. Out of 388 notices received under Rule 51, 233 notices were accepted, while 295 notices were rejected. Of these, statements were given on six cases and only statements were given on five.

A total of 408 petitions were received during the session, out of which 372 were admissible, four were inadmissible and 32 lapsed.

Satish Mahana said that no information was received under Rule 311. Of the 40 information received under Rule 56, 10 were accepted, one drew attention, and 29 were rejected. Under Rule-301, out of 293 information, 171 were accepted and 122 were rejected. Under Rule-300, 14 information were received, out of which two were inadmissible and 12 were rejected. Whereas all the six proposals received under Rule 103 were found admissible.

Let us inform that during the winter session, many important bills related to the interest of the state were passed, including Uttar Pradesh Pension Entitlement and Law Validation Bill, 2025, Uttar Pradesh Private University (Third, Fourth and Fifth Amendment) Bill, Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (Amendment) Bill, Uttar Pradesh Rural Population Records Bill, Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Cess Repeal Bill, KGMU (Amendment) Bill and Uttar Pradesh Appropriation Bill.
