Sharad Pawar party has no alliance with Congress in Nagpur, Aghadi gets a shock!

Before the Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections, Maha Vikas Aghadi has suffered a big political setback. Major constituents of the alliance, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) have decided to contest this election separately. After this decision, internal differences in MVA have come to the fore.

NCP (SP) Nagpur President Duneshwar Pethe has seriously accused Congress of not following the coalition dharma. He told that till Monday night, talks were going on between the leaders of both the parties regarding seat sharing, but later the Congress leaders stopped picking up the calls. This made it clear that Congress no longer wants to continue the alliance.

According to Pethe, NCP (SP) had initially demanded 25 seats, but during talks, the party also agreed to contest on 15 seats. Despite this, Congress completely ignored his demand. He said that this attitude of Congress has hurt the spirit of the alliance.

The NCP leader alleged that this step of Congress is going to indirectly benefit BJP. He says that Congress is deliberately adopting such a strategy, which will divide the opposition votes and benefit the BJP.

It is noteworthy that in the 151-member Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections held in the year 2017, BJP had won 108 seats, while Congress got 28, BSP 10, Shiv Sena (undivided) 2 and NCP (undivided) got only one seat.

Voting for 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra will be held on January 15 and counting of votes will be done on January 16. The last date for filing nominations is Tuesday, while the last date for withdrawal of nominations is January 2 and the final list of candidates will be released on January 3.
