Kerala Education Minister attacks Congress, alleges saffronization in education!
Speaking to the media, Sivankutty also warned some media houses not to act as public relations platforms for the so-called “unholy alliance of Congress-BJP”. “When Indian democracy is under severe pressure, Congress has chosen the path of silence and surrender,” he said. Shivankutty, during the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992, supported the then Prime Minister P.V. Referring to Narasimha Rao’s silence, he said, “Who was that silence for? The same continues even today.”
He alleged that the praise of RSS by senior leader Salman Khurshid after Shashi Tharoor and Digvijay Singh shows the ideological deviation of Congress.
Talking on Kerala politics, Sivankutty said that the Congress-BJP alliance is no longer limited to mere rhetoric, but is emerging as “practical experiments” at the ground level. He cited the Mattathur Gram Panchayat election results as evidence of alleged vote swapping.
“The numbers don’t lie,” he said. According to him, during BJP’s victory in Nooluvalli ward, Congress got only 44 votes, in Korechal ward, Congress got 58 votes when BJP won, while in Murikungal ward, during UDF’s victory, BJP got only 66 votes.
“This is not politics of accommodation but open vote trading,” he alleged, and said the Congress was sharing votes with anyone to defeat the LDF.
Despite this, Sivankutty said the LDF emerged as the single largest party in Mattathur with 10 seats, which he said was a blow to the “communal alliance”.
The minister met Mattathur panchayat member K.R. Ouseph’s revelations were also cited, which claimed that during the Thrissur Lok Sabha elections, DCC leaders had asked workers to be lax at the booth level. According to Sivankutty, it was due to this “secret vote transfer” that BJP got victory in Thrissur and better vote share.
He also alleged that Congress leader K. Leaders like Muraleedharan and Sabarinath have come out in support of the BJP’s demands, including one by a BJP councillor, CPI(M) MLA V.K. Also included is a demand from Prasanth to vacate the office in Thiruvananthapuram.
