Uttar Pradesh The Voter List Will Be Published With Amendments On March 6th
Taking an important step towards making the voter list error-free, transparent and updated in Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission of India has revised the dates of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme.
This decision of the Commission will help in further streamlining the process of adding names to the voter list, making corrections and filing objections.
According to the revised schedule, now the draft publication of the voter list will be done on January 6, 2026, while the final publication will be done on March 6, 2026.
Chief Electoral Officer of the state, Navdeep Rinwa said that this change has been made in the timetable of the ongoing special intensive revision by the Election Commission of India on the basis of qualification date January 1, 2026.
Its objective is to include as many eligible citizens as possible in the voter list and to make the list completely error-free, so that there is no discrepancy of any kind in the upcoming election process.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer, under the revised schedule, the draft voter list will be published on January 6, 2026. After this, claims and objections will be received from January 6 to February 6, 2026.
During this period, applications can be made for adding names of new voters, deleting names of dead or transferred voters and correction in name, address or other details. Along with this, from January 6 to February 27, 2026, notice phase, decision on calculation forms and received claims and objections will be duly disposed of.
During this time, Booth Level Officer, Electoral Registration Officer and other concerned officers will scrutinize all the applications and ensure fair decision. After the completion of the entire process, the final publication of the updated and pure voter list of Uttar Pradesh will be done on March 6, 2026.
The Election Department has appealed to the people of the state to check their names in the voter list within the prescribed time limit and if there is any error, they should lodge a claim or objection in time. This revised program of the Election Commission will improve the quality of the voter list and provide a stronger basis to the democratic process.
