Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully conducted salvo launch of two ‘Pralaya’ missiles from the same launcher. Two launches of Pralay missile have been carried out in quick succession from the same launcher. Pralay missile is a solid fuel based indigenous quasi-ballistic missile. It is fitted with a state-of-the-art guidance and navigation system, which ensures its high accuracy.
This missile is capable of carrying different types of warheads and hitting different targets. The launch took place near the Odisha coast on the morning of 31 December at around 10.30 am.
According to the Defense Ministry, both the missiles followed a prescribed path precisely. During this the missiles successfully accomplished all the flight objectives. Missile flight and terminal events were confirmed by tracking sensors deployed at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur.
