Caste meeting should be held on social issues, not on political ones: Sanjay Nishad!
The newly appointed president of Uttar Pradesh BJP, Pankaj Choudhary has banned the caste conference in the state, on which political rhetoric has intensified. Meanwhile, Nishad Party convenor and Uttar Pradesh government minister Sanjay Nishad said on Thursday that there should be freedom to hold caste meetings on social issues.
While talking to news agency IANS, Sanjay Nishad said, “There is a system of giving caste certificate in the country. Lands of many castes have been taken away by making laws on the basis of castes. 80 percent of Nishads are landless. 578 such castes are being brought into the mainstream of development by giving 74 types of arrangements. If such castes are not collected then how will they get rights?”
He said, “If the reservation for Scheduled Castes is included in the Constitution, if the milkman occupies 27 seats and the leather man occupies 23 seats, then where will the rest go? There are rules of the party. According to the rules of the party, the one who becomes a member has to work according to the party. He has to give in writing that he will follow every rule of the party.”
Sanjay Nishad said, “If people of our caste are suffering, then their meeting is held first. People from other castes, who come to relieve their suffering, also have a meeting. If BJP works as per its rules, then I support the statement of the state president.”
He said, “Today, whatever parts or supporters of BJP are there, they work according to their rules through their president. Every caste has the right to share its happiness and sorrow.
If Brahmins come together then one should not express grief over it, however it should not be politicized either. If we want to share happiness and sorrow, if we want to gather our consciousness, then a meeting is necessary. Education, employment, marriage happen only in the society. In such a situation, if there is no meeting then how will the work be done? In such a situation, there should be freedom to hold social meetings.”
