Government should take strict action on Indore incident: Fauzia Khan!
On the deaths due to contaminated water in Indore, NCP (SP) Rajya Sabha MP Fauzia Khan has called it a very sad incident. Speaking to news agency IANS, he said, “This is a very sad incident. No amount of condemnation is enough. Children are losing their lives and contaminated water is reaching people. I believe there should be no bigger matter of concern than this in the country. The government should seriously discuss this and take strict steps.”
Regarding the viral video of Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya lashing out at a journalist, Fauzia Khan said, “This is not a good thing at all. The intoxication of power is never good. If you are in power, you are responsible. You are not in power to insult people. Serious questions need to be addressed.”
Fauzia Khan, reacting to the political controversy over Nana Patole’s statement comparing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with Lord Shri Ram, said, “Lord Shri Ram was a symbol of justice. Ram Rajya means such a governance, where every citizen and every section of the society is treated equally, they get respect and justice.
Actually this is Ram Rajya. The one who followed this path was Mahatma Gandhi, who made tireless efforts to establish Ram Rajya. Where justice is found, that is Ram Rajya. “The one who does not spread hatred and gives the message of peace, only he moves towards Ram Rajya.”
On TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee’s statement that ‘opposition parties should contest elections at the grassroots level’, Fauzia Khan said, “Elections should be fought at the grassroots level only. Unless the workers are strong, no party can be effective. Today, the game of money is going on everywhere. There is horse-trading of workers and candidates.”
He further said, “We have raised many issues regarding electoral reforms in the House, but the ground reality is that the way the elections and SIR process is being run, whenever we tried to speak on it, we were stopped.
