Indian Idol season three winner Prashant Tamang passes away at 43!

Sad news has come out from the film industry. Singer and actor Prashant Tamang died on Sunday at the age of 43. The cause of his death is said to be stroke. Filmmaker Rajesh Ghatani has confirmed this sad news.
At the same time, well-known singer Mahesh Seva of Darjeeling paid tribute to his friend by posting on social media. Expressing his condolences, he wrote on Instagram, “Deepest condolences on the demise of dear brother Prashant.”

Prashant Tamang’s name is best known as the winner of Indian Idol Season 3. He was born on 4 January 1983 in Darjeeling, originally lived in Nepal. His fans also called him ‘Pride of the Mountain’. His family consists of mother, grandmother and a sister. In the year 2011, he married Geeta Thapa. According to the information, he was living in Delhi with his wife.

Before coming to the show, he was posted in Kolkata Police and was a part of the police orchestra. He used to sing in programs there. It was his senior officers who advised him to participate in Indian Idol.

After winning the Indian Idol show, Prashant released his first album with Sony BMG, which included Hindi and Nepali songs. Later he worked in Nepali films as a playback singer and actor. His voice and acting received much appreciation.

Prashant played an important character in Amazon Prime’s web series ‘Paatal Lok 2’. In this series, he played the role of villain Daniel Lecho, which was completely different and shocking for the audience. He was liked a lot by the audience in this role and his acting in the series was appreciated.
