India vs New Zealand: Kohli completed the fastest 28 thousand runs in international cricket!

Virat Kohli has become the fastest player to complete 28 thousand runs in international cricket. Kohli was just 25 runs away from achieving this milestone before the start of the series against New Zealand. Kohli achieved this feat in his 623rd innings on Sunday.

In this matter, Virat Kohli has overtaken Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who had completed 28 thousand runs in 644 innings.

Playing his 309th ODI, Kohli crossed the figure of 28 thousand runs by hitting a four against Aditya Ashok on the fifth ball of the 13th over. With this, Kohli became the second player to score the most international runs by surpassing Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara.

Virat Kohli is in great form at the moment. He scored 74* runs in the ODI match on the Australia tour, after which he played innings of 135, 102 and 65* runs against South Africa. Kohli ended the year 2025 on a high note by scoring 131 and 77 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in December.

New Zealand team came to bat after losing the toss at BCA Stadium and scored 300 runs losing 8 wickets. The opening pair of Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls gave a great start to the visiting team. Both the players made a partnership of 117 runs in 21.4 overs.

Nicholls was out after scoring 62 runs in 69 balls with 8 fours, while Conway scored 56 runs in 67 balls with 1 six and 6 fours.

Daryl Mitchell came out to bat at number four. He made small partnerships and took the team to the score of 239. Mitchell was out after scoring 84 runs in 71 balls with 3 sixes and 5 fours, while Christian Clarke played an unbeaten inning of 24 runs.

From the opposition team, Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna took 2 wickets each. Apart from these, Kuldeep Yadav took 1 wicket.
