According to Delhi Police, the operation was being monitored by senior officials. Along with district level units, special branches were also included in it, so that better coordination and speed of action could be ensured. Police officials said that during the operation, instructions were given to the teams based on real-time inputs and intelligence, so that the suspects did not get a chance to escape.
Police say that the objective of ‘Operation Gang Bust’ was not just to make arrests but to weaken the entire network of organized crime. According to officials, this comprehensive action was taken in view of the increasing incidents of gang war and organized crime in the capital for some time. Police termed it as a strong message to the criminals that strict action will be taken against those who play with law and order in Delhi.
Officials also said that the interrogation of the arrested accused is going on and aspects related to their network, associates and financial transactions are being investigated. The possibility of further arrests based on this investigation has not been ruled out. Besides, the police are also trying to find out whether these gangs are connected to interstate or international crime networks.
