‘Taj Hotel was turned into a jail’, Raut accuses Eknath Shinde of keeping the mayor in suspense!

Political turmoil has intensified after the results of municipal elections including BMC in Maharashtra. Especially the politics regarding the newly elected Shiv Sena corporators is in full swing. According to reports, 29 Shiv Sena corporators have been called to the Taj Lands End Hotel and kept there. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has reacted sharply to this.

He says that Shinde faction has turned Taj Hotel into Yerwada and Arthur Road into jail, where newly elected councilors have been confined. He called it completely unjust and unfair action. Raut said that this is a question of law and order.

There is a government of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde in the state, but despite this, wrongs are being done to the newly elected Shiv Sena councilors. He alleges that Shiv Sena fears that its councilors may be broken.

Raut said that Taj Hotel has been made like a jail. He said that the Chief Minister should immediately order that the councilors detained in the hotel should be released. He says that it is wrong to use such fear and pressure in any electoral or political process.

If sources are to be believed, the purpose of inviting the new corporators to the hotel is to stop any attempt to bring the councilors into their group through any kind of horse-trading or pressure. The Shinde faction is trying to ensure that the newly elected councilors remain on their side.

It is noteworthy that on Friday, BJP-Shiv Sena alliance won a landslide victory in the municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra. It won 25 out of 29 civic bodies, and the BJP emerged as the single largest party in the BMC elections with 89 seats.

However, for majority (114) the help of Shinde Sena is required. Mahayuti’s victory ended three decades of dominance of the Thackeray family. At the same time, the Uddhav-Raj Thackeray duo did not fail completely. His alliance maintained its dominance in the Marathi-dominated areas of Mumbai by winning 71 seats.
