Vikrant clarified that he is not retiring from acting. The 'Haseen Dilbaruba' actor told him, “I'm not retiring… just tired. A long break is needed. Homesickness and health are also deteriorating… People misunderstood it (social media post).” He reiterated that he has no intention of quitting acting, but would like to focus on his personal life for the time being. On Monday, Vikrant Massey took to Instagram to announce that he will be taking a break from acting after 2025. “The last few years and the times since have been unprecedented. I thank you all for your unfailing support. But as I move forward, I'm realizing it's time to recoup and go back home. As a husband, father and son. And as an actor too.” He said, “So in 2025, we will meet each other for the last time. Until the time feels right. Last 2 movies and memories of many years. Thanks again. For everything and everything that happened in between.” Enjoying the success of 'The Sabarmati Report', he revealed two films in the pipeline for the coming year.
Following his post, many of the actor's colleagues also weighed in on his decision. His 'Sabarmati Report' co-star Raashi Khanna expressed disbelief, while Dia Mirza appreciated his move and wished him all the best for his break. “Breaks are the best – you will be even more amazing on the other side.” Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta also appreciated his decision and reiterated that it takes courage to make such a choice.
He wrote, “In 2008, Hansal Mehta left the film industry and Mumbai. With his family, he moved to a small village called Malwali in Lonavala. He reinvented himself, reinvented himself and in 2012, came back with Shahid, which was the best film of his career, and never looked back. 1/3.” He then praised Vikrant's decision and reiterated that he should be praised, not criticized. In the coming year, Vikrant has two releases lined up – 'Yaar Jigri' and 'Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan'.
