T20 World Cup: Washington excited about Namibia match!
Washington Sundar was last seen in the ODI series against New Zealand about a month ago. He got injured while bowling in the first match of the series played in Vadodara, after which he could not take part in the T20 series and withdrew from the remaining matches of the series, but now Washington has returned to the Indian team.
on wednesday In the video released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sundar was seen speaking a dialogue from a Tamil film, which means ‘Tell them I’m back.’
Washington Sundar said, “It feels good to be here and train with the boys. Our session was very intense. We lived up to all the expectations. We had a very good fielding session. I got a chance to bowl and bat a lot.”
Sundar also talked about his preparations during his rehab at the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, saying, “The last three weeks have been very good in terms of how I prepared and how hard I worked on myself to come here and get ready for the tournament. I am looking forward to the upcoming matches.”
The off-spin bowling all-rounder, who is recovering from a side strain and rib injury, took part in fielding drills during Tuesday’s practice session before bowling to Tilak Verma along with Kuldeep Yadav.
While the team management was assessing Sundar’s match preparations, he was also seen having a long conversation with head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar.
India started its campaign by winning the match played against USA in Mumbai by 29 runs. Now the Indian team will face Namibia on 12th February and Pakistan on 15th February. Team India will play its last league match against Netherlands on 18 February.
