Hindu laborer working in tea garden murdered in Bangladesh

There have been repeated incidents of targeting of minorities and attacks on Hindus in particular in Bangladesh. In many incidents that have taken place so far, Hindus have been targeted and killed. Meanwhile, news of the murder of another Hindu person has come to light. On Wednesday (February 11), there was a stir after the dead body of a 28-year-old Hindu man was found in Moulvibazar area of ​​North-Eastern Bangladesh.

The body of the victim, who worked in a tea garden, was found in a blood soaked condition. His hands and legs were tied with rope. According to reports, police found the body of Ratan Shubho Kar in a tea garden located about 200 km northeast of Dhaka. Abdul Awal, officer-in-charge of Kamalganj police station, confirmed that Ratan worked in Champaran Tea Garden under Shubho Kar Islampur Union.

At around 10 in the morning, local people first saw Ratan’s body. Injury marks were found on the dead body. Ratan’s elder brother Laxman Kar told that the family had been searching for him for many days. On Wednesday morning they got information that Ratan’s body was lying in the garden. After reaching the spot, he identified the body. Laxman said that the reason for the murder is not yet known. The body was sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

A few days ago, a rice trader was also brutally murdered in Mymensingh. At least 15 targeted killings of Hindus have been recorded in Bangladesh in the last 45 days, according to a statement by the South Asia Forum for Freedom of Religious Belief.
